Leo season closes the way it opened: loudly. A total solar eclipse lands directly in your own sign on the 12th, the biggest personal event of your astrological year, and the Sun itself leaves Leo for Virgo on the 23rd, ending the season with Mercury making a rare cazimi return just days later. Between those two dates sits everything else August has to offer, and for once it is genuinely secondary.
This is your month. Treat it like one.
The New Moon on the 12th is a total solar eclipse at twenty degrees of Leo, in your 1st house of identity and self, the same house Jupiter has been building since late June. This is the single most significant personal moment in your chart all year. Whatever begins here is not a minor resolution, it is closer to a genuine reintroduction of yourself to your own life.
Do not shrink from the attention this brings. Eclipses in the 1st house are rare and they are not subtle. Let people see the shift.
Venus moves into Libra on the 7th, into your 3rd house of communication. Charm carries further than usual in conversation this month, useful timing given how much attention is already turning your way.
Mars enters Cancer on the 11th, into your 12th house of rest and the unseen. This sits in quiet tension with the eclipse: outward energy peaks in your identity while an undercurrent asks you to also process privately, not just perform. Give yourself both.
The Sun leaves your sign on the 23rd and enters Virgo, your 2nd house of money and resources. Leo season is over. What you do next is quieter: consolidate the value of what the eclipse revealed rather than performing it further.
The month closes with a partial lunar eclipse on the 28th at five degrees of Pisces, in your 8th house of shared resources and deep transformation. After a month spent squarely in the spotlight, this eclipse pulls you somewhere private and intense, unfinished emotional business with another person, or a shared financial matter that finally gets resolved.
Let the 12th be as big as it actually is. Then let the 28th be quiet, on purpose, without treating the quiet as a letdown. If you want to see exactly where these transits fall in your own chart rather than the general Leo picture, our sister site astromara.com runs a free natal chart on the same ephemeris used here.
Though all our readers love astrology, their working specialities are tarot and clairvoyance. They will not run your August transits, but they will read what is actually moving in your life right now. To see who is available and what they offer, the readers page is the place. If you want to understand what you are looking at once you have your chart, astromara’s Learn section walks through every sign, planet and house in plain language. Otherwise, see you under the next moon.
