August takes Sagittarius further out, then brings you home. A solar eclipse on the 12th falls in your 9th house of belief and travel, exactly the territory you are most at home expanding into, while a lunar eclipse on the 28th lands in your 4th house of home and family, asking for the opposite: roots rather than horizons.
Both are true at once. That is the month.
The New Moon on the 12th is a total solar eclipse at twenty degrees of Leo, in your 9th house of belief, higher learning and travel, a fellow fire sign and comfortable territory for you. Jupiter, your ruling planet, has been expanding here since late June, and the eclipse turns that growth decisive. A trip finally gets booked, a course of study begins in earnest, or a belief you have been circling becomes something you actually commit to.
Venus enters Libra on the 7th, into your 11th house of friendship and community. A sociable, easy stretch for your wider circle, new connections form without much effort, particularly among people who share your interests rather than your background.
Mars enters Cancer on the 11th, into your 8th house of shared resources and deep transformation. This is intense, private territory, not your usual outward-facing register. A financial matter shared with someone else, or an emotional undercurrent you would rather move past quickly, asks for real attention instead.
The Sun enters Virgo on the 23rd, into your 10th house of career and public standing. After the expansive belief-and-travel energy of the eclipse, this turns your attention to something more concrete: how the bigger picture you have been building toward actually shows up in your working life.
The month closes with a partial lunar eclipse on the 28th at five degrees of Pisces, in your 4th house of home and family. After a month reaching outward, this eclipse pulls you back to the domestic, a family matter or a question about where home actually is that has been waiting for your attention.
Chase the horizon at the eclipse on the 12th. Then let the 28th pull you home without resenting the change of direction. If you want to see exactly where these transits fall in your own chart rather than the general Sagittarius picture, our sister site astromara.com runs a free natal chart on the same ephemeris used here.
Though all our readers love astrology, their working specialities are tarot and clairvoyance. They will not run your August transits, but they will read what is actually moving in your life right now. To see who is available and what they offer, the readers page is the place. If you want to understand what you are looking at once you have your chart, astromara’s Learn section walks through every sign, planet and house in plain language. Otherwise, see you under the next moon.
