August is a personal month for Cancer. A solar eclipse on the 12th falls in your 2nd house of money and self-worth, and on the 11th your own ruling territory gets a visitor: Mars enters your sign directly, your 1st house, an energy that does not usually sit easily with your natural caution but is worth listening to this time.
Mercury has just come off retrograde in your sign, so August also carries the tail end of that recalibration, now moving forward again with everything else.
The New Moon on the 12th is a total solar eclipse at twenty degrees of Leo, in your 2nd house of income, resources and self-worth. Jupiter has been expanding this territory since late June, and the eclipse arrives at the exact same degree, turning gradual financial growth into something more decisive. A raise, a new source of income, or simply a clearer sense of your own value: this is the window it tends to land in.
Mars moves into Cancer on the 11th, directly into your 1st house of identity and self. This is not Mars’s most comfortable placement, it wants speed and Cancer wants feeling first, but for you specifically it means more assertiveness than you usually carry, more willingness to act on instinct rather than wait until you are certain. Use it. The waiting has its place, but not every month.
Venus enters Libra on the 7th, into your 4th house of home and family. Expect a softer, more sociable atmosphere at home this month, entertaining, reconciling, or simply enjoying the people you share your space with more than usual.
The Sun enters Virgo on the 23rd, into your 3rd house of communication and everyday exchange. After a month centred on self and home, this turns your attention outward again, toward conversations, errands and the small daily contact that keeps a life connected to the people in it.
The month closes with a partial lunar eclipse on the 28th at five degrees of Pisces, a fellow water sign, in your 9th house of belief, travel and the bigger picture. Something about your worldview or your sense of where you are headed comes into sharp, emotional focus. Trust what surfaces here more than you might trust it in a drier house.
Let Mars move you before you have fully thought it through, just this once. If you want to see exactly where these transits fall in your own chart rather than the general Cancer picture, our sister site astromara.com runs a free natal chart on the same ephemeris used here.
Though all our readers love astrology, their working specialities are tarot and clairvoyance. They will not run your August transits, but they will read what is actually moving in your life right now. To see who is available and what they offer, the readers page is the place. If you want to understand what you are looking at once you have your chart, astromara’s Learn section walks through every sign, planet and house in plain language. Otherwise, see you under the next moon.
