The Seven of Cups Tarot Card – Interpretation :
The message of this card follows on from the six, be careful not to chase rainbows, or build castles in the sky. Though daydreaming is helpful and enables us to create with our mind powerful images that we hope to materialise in our real world, if we only live in the world of imagination, then we are lost. Unrealistic dreams can be our enemy. The number two request on my wishing well is ‘ please let me win the lottery ‘, I sincerely hope this comes true for one of you but in reality the statistics point at a likelihood of 14,000,000 to 1. It may be wise to have a back up plan in case your 6 numbers don’t come up any time soon. We must learn to create balance in our life. I spend a lot of time studying Tarot & other esoteric subjects as I know that is my destiny, I can however close down this side of my personality and function as any normal human being. The central Jesus like figure of this card tells us that though we should strive for spirituality and joy we have to deal with the thousand things that life presents us on a daily basis. If we find that the emotions of the cups are dragging us towards excessive daydreaming we need to temper this with swift dose of reality, pull in our emotions and refocus our energies.

My Relationship with The Seven of Cups
This card appeared in a Tree of Life reading that I performed for a young man just the other day. When I challenged that his present course in life was leading him towards an unsuccessful, & seemingly dangerous, future he simply refused to believe it. After the reading I asked him where he thought he would end up. He was going to be a famous rapper he told me, it transpired that though he was in his mid twenties, couldn’t sing & spent most of his time hanging out with an undesirable ‘crew’ he was sure that fame and fortune were set to drop in to his lap. I beg to differ, & this is exactly what the Seven of Cups warns. Dreams are good & can reveal your true path; there must however be some basis in reality, very rarely do we achieve our dream life without some form of hard work. I often get asked ‘ now that I have finished my site ‘ what I intend to do next … The site is FAR from finished, though it is functioning exactly as I dreamed it would over 20 years ago, before I even really knew what the internet was, it didn’t just ‘ magically’ appear, it has taken many years of hard but enjoyable work starting with designing the deck you see throughout the pages. Yes I had a dream, I did however have to be sure that the time, money & effort needed were considered, that I was indeed willing to put in the work that would bring my dream to fruition. My dreams tell me that I will be a happy, wisened, old ( but sprightly ! ) man reading cards from a comfortable sitting room, I know that before that can happen I need to plan carefully where my life is going to lead.
