In today’s digital age, the world has become a vast, interconnected platform where people can share and access information in an instant. The metaphysical community has not been left behind, with practitioners and enthusiasts alike flocking to social media to share insights, experiences, and offer psychic services. However, as is the case with any online community, this growth has also attracted less-than-scrupulous characters who pose as legitimate practitioners to prey on unsuspecting individuals with ever increasing psychic scams.

I have just successfully regained control of my hacked FB business manager & fought off yet another fake profile pretending to be me on Instagram. I am not really too bothered about my content being totally ripped off on their profile, when they start directly messaging people & pressuring for money it’s a different matter.

The psychic community has seen a surge in what we term as ‘digital vampires’ – individuals or groups who feed off the trust and vulnerability of those seeking psychic guidance. These unsavory characters create faux profiles and websites, impersonating legitimate readers, clairvoyants, and mediums. They often use high-pressure tactics, unfounded promises, and even fear to manipulate their victims into parting with their money or personal information.

As practitioners and seekers in the metaphysical community, it’s our shared responsibility to safeguard ourselves and our peers from these online predators. Here are some tips to help protect your online presence and ensure that your digital spiritual journey remains positive and authentic.

1. Do Your Research: In the age of information, it’s important to use available resources to verify the credibility of any psychic or clairvoyant. Look for reviews and testimonials from previous clients. Are they consistently positive? Can you find independent verification outside of the psychic’s own website or social media platform?

2. Trust Your Intuition: As followers of the metaphysical, we understand the power of intuition. If something feels off about a profile or the person behind it, trust your gut. Authentic psychics facilitate positive environments and should not induce fear or use pressurized sales tactics.

3. Be Vigilant about Personal Information: A responsible psychic will not ask for more personal information than necessary to conduct a reading. Be wary of anyone asking for sensitive data such as your full name, address, financial information, or secret numbers.

4. Secure Payment Methods: Reputable psychic practitioners usually have secure payment methods in place and do not ask for payments outside of their official platforms. Be cautious of requests for direct money transfers, gift cards, or other untraceable forms of payment.

5. Report Suspicious Activity: If you come across a profile or website that seems suspicious, report it to the social media platform or website host. Your action may help protect other unsuspecting individuals from falling prey to the same scam. I am eternally grateful for the lovely people who report the fraudsters on Instagram particularly as that seems to be the scammers platform of choice as of today.

The online psychic and metaphysical community can be a source of immense comfort, guidance, and camaraderie. By staying vigilant and taking steps to protect ourselves and each other, we can ensure that our digital sphere remains a positive and authentic space, free from the reach of digital vampires.
