Witnessed
Leo carries the hide of the Nemean Lion, the beast no blade could pierce, that Hercules finally overcame with his bare hands as the first of his twelve labours, then wore as armour for the rest of his life. The lion couldn't be defeated by force. It had to be met by something stronger than force: nerve, presence, the refusal to look away. That is what arrives on the 22nd of January, at seventeen minutes past noon UTC: a Full Moon at two degrees of Leo, the Sun exactly opposite at two degrees Aquarius, and the closest, largest supermoon of the entire year, the Moon just 357,635 kilometres from Earth. This is the Wolf Moon, January's Full Moon, named for the wolves that howled at winter's hungriest hour. Leo rules the heart and the stage, the plain fact of being seen; opposite it, Aquarius rules the crowd and the cause, the self folded into something larger. Under the year's biggest Moon, the question isn't whether you matter. It's whether you're willing to be witnessed.
